Fanuc 6T Watchdog alarm ?

Hi-

Anybody know what causes a watchdog alarm on a Fanuc 6T control? Mine
comes on, with no diagnostic alarm, after about three hours of
operation. I know it's a master PCB problem, but what? A new glitch.

My guess.... A Fan

Not sure about the 6T, but on our 15's, 16, 18, and 21's, there are two
little cpu cooler type fans over the monitor screen, when they go bad,
all sorts of wierd stuff happens.

Hello Bob,

In can, be be caused by the axis control board as well as the master
pcb.

You might try pulling the boards and making sure good contact is being
made, other that that your screwed without some other pcb's for a
swap.

I am presently out of town on service on a watchdog timer that is
holding up the control boot, however this problem is related to memory
and improper checksum (not fanuc).

If it is related to a Master PCB alarm, I would suggest backing up all
your parameters, Diagnostic parameters, Option Parameters, and also
the O9000 programs just in case it won't boot one day.
