Well, I tried.
The Macros in a fanuk will not cross over to the hardrive. So the program
has to be loaded into memory.
I tried it, one machine took forever to search thru the program for data, an
insane amount of time, and the other machine
has 200k memory. For those who are not familiar with file size, this post is
twice that size lol.
So I decided to stop focusing on the way to do it, and just focus on the end
product.
Then I figured it out.
Im using a text editor called textpad, it has simple record macro
capabilities. Records keystrokes.
So now I bring into my texteditor the nc file and click the macro makino. It
breaks the proggy up into tools and saves them
in a dirctory my ftp sender is set to. Instantly. It even closes
automatically.
I then send the lot at once into the machine.
At the mill I have a macro that asks how many tools, and how many positions.
game over, kicks ass.
A job im running now has 9 tools. It has 8 positions. total of 90
electrodes.
old way = 810 toolchanges.
new way = 111 toolchanges.
this is not a slight improvement. This is INSANE! We have tons of machines
running 24/7. We might be talking of a savings of a million toolchanges over
a year.
Im shocked this issue exists. If machine manufacturer's put this in the
controllers, we might save a trillion toolchanges a year in America?
Now I can grab a tool running 30 grand, and dwell it out for 2 minutes, and
run it thru all 8 positions. Total heat control. When I laser it i will
dwell it out for the same amount of time.
Im inside the +-.0005 window all day long, 24/7. My goal is the illustrius
+-.0002 windows, and this might finally get me there.
