Hi can any body offer me any advise,
I have a Daewoo puma 12L with a Fanuc 10Tf control.
My problem is the X axis drive servo is kicking up some alarms.
The first alarm is sv0015 X pulse coder disconnect. If I reset at the
control Sometimes it will clear and when I try to jog X the slide will
Jump violently up and down a half inch or so, sometimes for a few
seconds then stop and give me excess current to servo and overload
alarms ( overload alarms are on screen not on the lite on the panel).
I dont have those alarm numbers on me but I seem to recall SV008 and
SV009) . I checked the LED on the Fanuc PCB board and it shows a
number one, the watch dog light is not on. I checked all the
connections on the X axis servo (three) and the connection on the
pulse coder and I don't see any Visible signs of physical damage . The
Z axis drive works fine.

Any advice would be very much appreciated, Thanks a lot, Mike

Symptoms are very indicative of a broken cable.

You can't 'idiot proof' anything....every time you try, they just make
better idiots.

Has to be a channel on the encoder going bad or the coupling.
You will need to take the connector apart at the motor, check for
coolant or broken wires.

Good Luck

I would place my bet on broken encoder cable(hard to see if broken only
way to check is replace). Or broken servo power cable(bends inside
energy chain and cut wires can touch ground)
