How to turn off coolant?

Machine is Leadwell with Fanuc 0-M control.
Is it possible to turn off colant at the end of a machining cycle
(M30, M02), Even if i don't use coolant in the program, after M30
machine starts coolant for a few seconds.
Is there a parameter maybe to turn this off for some jobs?

Natko, I'd try M9 for coolant off. Seems to be fairly consistant in
Fanucs, YMMV.

Or check the spindle on commands; my Tsugami has an OT control, and M10
turns on the spindle and coolant at the same time. If you are using
something similar, try changing them to M2/M3 and adding the M9 at the end
of the cycle.

*Usually* <---BIG DISCLAIMER, M8 is coolant on, M9 coolant off.

You can't 'idiot proof' anything....every time you try, they just make
better idiots.

Are you talking about residual coolant leaking out ? If that is so then you
have to suck the coolant back out the other end to prevent that. If you
can't shake it after you pee then you shouldn't pee.

It's not that easy ;-)
I think this is used for cleaning chips from machine, as it turns pump
ON (_after_ M30, when program finishes) for 5 seconds. Coolant flows
from pipes directed on the tool, and two pipes spray on the chip pan
to move chips on to the conveyor.
I hope this makes some sense...

On my YCM Supermax with a Fanuc 0M control that would be the "rush
chips" option which I do not have. Look in your manual for a "rush
chips" or maybe a "Flush chips" option.

How about a M00 at the end and then manually reset the program to the
top. Any problems without ever letting the machine see a M30?

It's a good thing that you don't have any Gringing Machines <G>.

Try M02 and /or M99 instead of M30.

With M99 you will have to put an M0 at the program start or else the program
will run continuously.

Make sure that the coolant auto button is pressed and not the coolant
manual, then the M9 will shut off the coolant. also the leadwells will
only spit out coolant when the door is closed.
